About the event

Dr. David Lee is a dual board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist who conducts Qualified Medical Evaluations (QMEs) in California. He specializes in resolving medical-legal disputes within the workers' compensation system, delivering thorough examinations and defensible reports.


 Learning Objectives:

 

1. Understand the Pathophysiology and Diagnostic Criteria of CRPS

Participants will review the underlying mechanisms of CRPS, the difference between Type I and Type II, and the application of the Budapest diagnostic criteria in clinical settings.


 2. Recognize Objective Findings vs. Subjective Symptoms

Attendees will learn which clinical signs carry the most diagnostic weight, how to interpret temperature asymmetry, color changes, allodynia, and trophic alterations, and how to differentiate CRPS from other neuropathic or functional pain conditions.


 3. Analyze CRPS in the Context of Causation, Apportionment, and Impairment

The session will explore how pain management specialists evaluate industrial causation, address possible secondary gain or malingering, and determine impairment ratings in compliance with the AMA Guides (5th Edition).
